The audit work you have been turning away

This week, I sat down with Amy Hancock, founder of Hancock and Hastings and one of the few people in our space who holds an audit qualification.

We’ve all been there when a bigger inquiry comes in, the kind you would love to win, and somewhere in the back of your mind is the worry that you could not actually deliver it. So you let it go.

Amy has built something that quietly solves this. She partners with accountants who want to offer audit to their growing clients but are not licensed to do it themselves, and she does it in a way that keeps you as the client’s main point of contact.

We get into how the partnership really works, the thresholds that tell you whether a client even needs an audit, and the honest story of what happened when James and I tried to get our own licence.

One client you currently feel you have to turn away could be worth more than a year of membership. This episode is about no longer leaving that on the table.
